An autobiography is a book/wriing about yourself. It's usually the full story of one's life. A good example of this is Bill Clinton's "My Life" where he wrote abt his life.

For your assignment, you only have 1 choice - write about yourself. But, what you choose to include is up to you.

Autobiography is the non-fiction reportage of one's own life. Auto means self and bio means life ....graphy just means diary or record. Many autobiographies from the past have proved to be less reliable than a biography (which is written by another person) about the person simply because memory can often be selective and being truthful isn't usually as interesting to read as being imaginative.
My autobiography would probably tell a bit about my parents and hometown, I'd also put in some childhood memories that were important learning experiences, a record of my school and work careers and explain about my goals as an adult. If you want your autobiography to succeed, include some humorous instances like: your most embarrassing moment, the first joke you ever "got", the first joke you ever told, or other light-hearted little stories to keep your reader entertained. Be sure to include any dramatic events that have touched you personally (the day you met a celebrity or won the lotto, etc.).
My favorite autobiography is written by Ben Franklin. Incidentally, Paris Hilton has written her autobiography and you can read an excerpt from it and get a feel for how they're written. Go to: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5945784

An autobiography is a piece of literature (usually a book) about your life. A biography is usually written by someone that may know or is a scholar, while an autobiography is what you write about yourself. For example, Bill Clinton wrote a book about himself.

An autobiography is the story of a person's life told and/or written by that person. So, if you were to write an autobiography, it would be a piece of writing about you and your life.

On the other hand, a biography is the story of a person's life told or written by another person.

I hope this helps.

Autobiography- a recount on a persons life written by the person

Below is an autobiography i wrote for my college orientation

Howdy! My name is Rebecca Gene , but almost everyone calls me Becky. I was born on (insert date here) and I’m 18 years old. My parents names are (names here). My mom works for the post office and my dad is a psychologist who also teaches. My parents are divorced and have been since I was near 11yrs old. I have a younger sister named Jessica who is 14. I have a dog named Kramer and my sister has a dog names Nikki.
When I was little I went to a daycare that I hated because they made girls play with dolls and boys play with cars. My mom worked at the daycare with children older than I. At that time my dad worked as a psychologist in Vermont full time. I should also mention that we lived in Sunapee NH at this time. I use to go fishing with my dad before my sister was born.
When I started elementary school I was in multiage Kindergarten and 1st. I had a lot of friends who I use to spend a lot of time with. In second grade I had a horrible teacher and I was very happy to move to Center harbor. When we moved it was October so we lived with my Grandparents while our house was being built. I made new friends at school as well.
In 5th grade my parents divorced which I didn’t mind. My sister and I would spend Saturday –wends with my mom and wends-sat with my dad. This I hated because it made school work difficult because we had to remember to bring everything from one house to the other during the middle of the week.
In 8th grade I had my first real boyfriend who I dated for almost 2 years. He was my first love and are still good friends today. He was really into sports and I too became a very avid basketball watcher because I am horrible at the game. I learned how to call fouls and all the rules of the game. Because of this in 10th grade I became a cheerleader.
Cheerleading is my favorite sport to do because it is fun and is very positive. However cheerleading is looked down upon a lot in my high school so we had to work very hard as a team to make a name for ourselves, which I think we did. I was captain my senior years with my current best friend Crystal, who I met through cheerleading. I also played soccer my freshmen and sophomore year, but didn’t continue because I didn’t want to be involved with all the drama the girls create on the team. I did track my Junior and Senior year. Also it should be noted that I don’t do running events, I throw discus and shot put.
The summer after I turned 14 I got a job. I since then have saved all the money I have ever earned from working and bought my own car (which is my baby) and paid for incurrence on it every years with little or no help from my parents. After I bought my car I was very proud that I had done it all on my own.
Since I have been in high school I have taken all academic classes. The majority of these classes are foreign language. I have completed 9 semesters of foreign language. I am sure you are wondering what that means; it means I have completed 4 years in French and 3years in Spanish. I had to take both languages at the same time, which isn’t a problem for me as long as not one starts speaking the wrong language in the wrong class. Also along the way at my jobs I have worked with many people from other countries. Through working with these people I have learned about a variety of cultures and picked up some works from each language. At this time I probably know more than 2 words in 18 or so languages. I have always been interested in meeting new people and learning from them. The only way to do that is through communication and because we are humans that’s through speech. This is why I have had such an interest in language.
Also I for whatever reason tend to be good at math. No one else is my family is good at math so I defiantly didn’t get it from there. I took algebra 1 in 8th grade because I did well on a test. I have taken all honors or advanced math classes in high school. When I first started in algebra 1 – geometry I didn’t really understand the math as well as I could have. Since I have taken Trigonometry and advanced math topics I understand math a lot better. I for whatever reason seam to do better with harder things than easier ones.
Ok enough with school I want you to hear about my friends. I love to have fun. So in the summer I don’t have a curfew and I get to do just about whatever I want. This I’m sure has you thinking I am a wild child, well I am not. I don’t drink and I don’t smoke because I don’t ever want to not be in complete control of my body. I just know how to have a good time and be safe as well. My friends and I love to go swimming and try to make pyramids at the beach (this is really hard to do and not really worth your time to try). Last year we went to a water fall and climbed down the face of it which wasn’t really safe, but we all survived. Also I went to liver more with a bunch of my guy friends (don’t try this) and I refused to jump because it seamed stupid, but I went through the rapids which was fun and I recommend. We sometimes go to under 21 nights in Manchester in this club which plays a lot of Spanish music, so as you might have guess I loved. Also my grandmother has a place in the Hampton’s, so I usually bring a friend down their and we swim in the ocean and tan poolside.
Hopefully from reading all of this you can tell I am a very happy person. Also you can tell I like to get out and do a lot of things. I’m very outgoing, but I tend to be serious. I also am perhaps a little to honest because I tell it like it is. I’m defiantly not like anyone you have met before. I’m very excited to go to college and am glad to be going to Keene. I want to be very involved and get to know everyone. I’m sure you think that’s impossible, but you haven’t met me. I know almost everyone in high school (and I mean everyone) as well as several people from 1st grade – 8th grade. I hope you feel you’ve gotten so know me! Can’t wait to meet you all soon!
