Did he use an old photo or special effects to get it in the scene? Was there any real historical reason to think the 2 men would be talking in a location where the WTC would be visable? Or is this pure fiction/speculation - to have them talking where the WTC could be seen. Is it to make a point?

It is obvious that he is connecting the dots of anti-Isreali/american terrorism from islam. It is showing that this thing is NOT new. That the horrible things that these horrible people do will continue with not regard for others

I havent seen "Munich" yet but it seems to me that since the movie is set in the 70s, when the WTC still existed, if there was going to be a scene set in that location they would HAVE to show the WTC.

Whenever I see a movie set in NYC which shows the World Trade Center, I think I wonder if theres any money in digitally removing the WTC from long shots of the NY skyline.?

The reason why he had them talking in front of the World Trade Center was to make a point. The point was that this was a futile battle they were fighting. Originally, their theory was that if they killed the terrorists, it would bring justice to a horrible crime and everything would be solved. As the movie showed, nothing is ever that neat and tidy. Instead, the terrorists were revealed as normal people, just doing their jobs (like the heroes were) and the attempts at justice just led to more retaliations. Thus, the old adage, "violence begets violence".

And that point was hammered home with the final scene. In spite of all their efforts at trying to solve the situation, violence and terrorism still exist. Thus, Spielberg's point is the "war on terrorism" will never be over and is a war that can never be won by either side.

Ummmmm...you need to take into consideration the context of the movie. When did it take place? The WTC was built in the mid-60's.
