At turning on says Floppy Disk Fail (40)

Try another floppy in your drive. If you have the same problem go to Device Manager & see if it is working O.K.
If Device Manager thinks it is O.K. and you have tried two or three floppys you probably have a bad drive. New drives are only $10 or $12.

Could be several reasons.
1: Floppy drive is indeed bad
2: Loose cable connection at drive or motherboard.
3: Ribbon cable and\or sockets are bad
4: Loose or not connected power connection.

Don't bother w/ floppies
go get a flash drive/usb drive/jump drive/usb disk/whatever u want to call it
companies practically give them out
and if u can't get a free one, they're r like 1gb for less than $100 and sometimes less then $50 or go for a smaller size like 256mb for like $5 or $10

Talk to the store that you purchased the computer from!The drive might be under warranty.

stop putting it in the dvd drive
