Whenever she feels comfortable doing so! Sensible shoes are a good idea no matter what your age! As for the hair length, wear it however you want. Style is nothing more than a five letter word.

I don't like that when women get older they cut all their hair off. A shorter hairstyle can look nice, but when it is almost as short as a guys, I just don't understand why. It looks much nicer longer. Anyway, if anyone did choose to cut their hair short and wear sensible shoes, I'd say whenever you feel like it. There isn't really a specific age.

ummm... whenever she feels she's ready, i suppose.. some women don't all look good with short hair, though. My aunt is 50 and still has hair down to her bra strap.. she looks really good with it, as her hair is very curly naturally.
As for the sensible shoes, I have no idea... I say let people wear what they want and what makes them feel the most comfortable-- regardless of age.

I used to think you had to cut your hair short when you started looking kind of "witchy," but since then some older famous models have been on Oprah and they said keep it long as long as you take care of it and more importantly, YOURSELF. And I have done that. Lift weights, do aerobics and keep my hair longer and I feel good and look pretty great for almost 60. As for shoes. Wear nice ones that are comfy, they make them..have back up ones in case your sexy ones hurt after a while. :)

Never unless she wants to.
I am 43 and still have long hair, I love being very feminine and the thought of cutting my hair short fills me with dread.
My Mum used to tell me to cut my hair when I was 30, but that generation tend to have short curly perms don't they?

Are you talking like, "when i turn 40, i'll chop my hair off...."?There is no certain age. There are plenty of beautiful, middle aged women, who wear their hair long and use high heels. My mom's one of them. She's 62 and has long, flowing hair, and wears heels 4" and up, and she looks HOT! So, my guess is that when you let go, and don't care anymore, that's when, not a day before.

maybe 45, 50. because that is around the time where woman start to not care too much about their fashion sense and they start to want to waer more comfortable clothes. i'm not saying they dont care at all abou what they look like, but they dont go crazy if they dont have a certain shirt that everyone else has. they care more about being comfortable.

Are you kidding? NEVER!!
I plan to be in heels still when I'm 90.
And they should only cut their hair if it suits :)
Mine is short but not ultra short, and it's only cos long hair doesnt suit me.
