I am interested in vintage LED watched and calculators. Any ideas where in Japan is a good area to visit? Also, if you happen to know a good area for new electronics...namely digital watches, I would like to know that as well. Thanks a million in advance!!

If you are going to Osaka, then you will definitely find those things in Den Den town. There is a link below. It amazes me that people that actually live in Japan are giving ou such poor information. I am not sure of a similar place in Tokyo, but there must be a place similar to Den Den Town in Tokyo. I suggest buying a travel guide. I like Lonely Planet. They have a pretty good one. Link is below. I really hope you have a great time in Japan. It's a beautiful and wonderful place that also gave me my fiance.

Probably not in the big electronics stores - even last years models of whatever are sold off for huge discounts to make room for this years new-and-improved version.
Try smaller pawn shops etc, well away from the crowds. There are lots of them in suburbia, but this will involve more complex travel and communication skills. If you have Japanese friends they may be able to search the net for you in Japanese and find other collectors.
You'd probably have a much easier time finding this stuff elsewhere.
For new electronics AKIHABARA in Tokyo is 'the' place, but any Bic Camera will do.

Osaka would be den den town and in Tokyo would be Aikihabara. Great places to shop for electronics but do your research before buying from any one shop.

Electronic stores are all over the place in Tokyo and the big cities. In Tokyo, if you go to a mall or big department store, they will have en electronics store.
