Well, I'm not going to write your essay for you, but I think even more powerful than the desire to be admired is the desire to not be embarassed. Ultimately, why do soldiers do normally stupid, life-risking things when they're scared shitless? It's not because they want to be admired. It's because they don't want to hear what their buddies would say if they didn't. Also, with admiration frequently comes expectations - something most of us would rather do without. No, admiration can be nice, but it's certainly not the most powerful thing out there. So long as they're secure in a group, most people are happy.

Well the desire to be admired is pathetic in my eyes.Noone should want to be desired because once they do they will be unhappy when it actually happens because they have people crawling all over them trying to get closer to them and not alot of people like that.They wish for it then once it happens they wish it didn't happen but then it is too late to turn back
