Dig deep!

First you need to understand yourself, your likes, dislikes, habits; "things" that you are attracted to and vice versa. Once you have gotten the basic things covered then you need to ask yourself soul-searching questions?

Why do I like this? It is good for me? What benefit do I get from it? What do I have to "give up" in order “to gain" this? (Remember everything comes with a price attached.... sometimes that price can be time, energy, a skill, breaking a relationship etc).

Are you doing things because everybody is doing them? If so, why? Is it pressure from your parents, co-workers etc? Are you trying to emulate someone else’s lifestyle? Why?

If you didn't have the things you depended on (like electricity for a month) what would you do with your time? What matters to you most in this life? When you die what would you like people to remember about you?

In the end of all your questions ensure that your answers are not based on a physical commodity or person but rather a human value or quality (like love, faith, happiness).

It is at the end of your life-span, when those qualities will be things that you carry with you and in being a better human being you automatically forge a relationship with God. It becomes easier "to listen" to Him.

Best wishes with your self-analysis and finding your purpose!
I hope I have helped :-)

You have to bridge the gap between the object and the subject, so that the duality disappears. The knower has to become the knowledge. The thinker has to become the thought. Then the inner door within you opens for you to enter. You become inverted, and we call it meditation in India.

By trusting your unconscious.....if you teach yourself to listen to your inner voice, you'll reach it....
Weren't u ever in a position when you wanted to do something, but something deap inside you told you not to....but you ignored it and you did what you wanted to do anyway, only to realize that you shouldn't have....and u regretted it later?
well, that my friend is your inner self helping you out.....if you ignore it....by time it will be a faint voice....but if you tune in and listen to it....it will help you out, and get louder and louder
Good luck

If you are asking this question because you are unsure of who you are and what your purpose is. Join the club. I think that when i am trying to come to peace with myself i have to accept what is going on around me and focus on my needs and why i am in a certain position in life. I admit my wrongs and stand by my rights. That is how you get to know the real you and to be honest with yourself. Good luck in your quest and doing your best
