He won six races that year and I was wondering where he would have finished in the nascar standing useing the old points standings. Thanks

Uhh no. He did not win enough to win the cup. It's not based on wins. Even with te old format you still had to run up front quite a bit..
Had it still been set up in the old format Jeff Gordon would have won... I think it was figured by like 80 or so points that he would have won with the old format. As for where JR would have finished.. I'm not real positive on that one.

i think that nascar really shouldn't have the points system i think the way it should be is whoever wins the most races in a year is the one that should be crowned as the champion. cuz think about it with the points system no matter how many races you win you could be beat by someone who hasn't even won a race but accumulated enough points. what the hell kind of crap is that?

no they did some kind of researdch that proved jeff gordon would have won his 5th cup if it were the winston cup. but since it was nextel he ended up 3rd i think.

nope he would of finished 2nd or 3rd. jeff gordon would of won. wish they would change it back to the old points because i think that mark martin would of won the championship last year.

its possible but i kind of like the chase,although they are changing things about it in 2007,so who knows theyll probly screw up a good thing. go jr.
