Onboard SiS, tried messing with power managment and updating / removing device drivers but to no avail. Am I missing something? BTW trying to connect to a computer with WinME by network cable

what are you connecting to, are you connecting through a router or switch? Or are you tring to connect tdirectly to a computer if so you need a crossover cable.

Try the following. When you get the error, unplug the network cable, wait about 20 seconds and plug it back in. That is usually caused by the SiS network card not properly connecting with the default gateway. Or if it does connect, it only does it at 10 instead of 1000 mps. By disconnecting and reconnecting, you send a new request to the gateway. Normally that second request is answered and it works. You may want to check your gateway setting on both the computer and the router to see if you can spot a problem there.

There's possibly a problem with the network cable. The computer is reporting that a previously available network link has been disconnected - check whether the cable plug is fully inserted or damaged or there could be a break in the cable wiring. Try a different network cable and see if the problem disappears.

did you check the network cable, probably u unplug the network cable.
if the cable is plug it in. i think you need to buy a new network card. usually the onboard network card doesn't work very well.

Have you checked your Ethernet Cable?
I hope its not a crossover cable. ALso, I hope its in a good condition.
