Socio-economic profiling is just as bigoted as racial profiling. Strive to be a good person. Use manners, help others, be polite and don't cuss. Volunteer at a school or soup kitchen. Attend church, if you are a Christian. Being poor is not in any way related to having a criminal inclination. Look at Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling, going to prison, and millionaires! People who have self-esteem and self-respect earn the respect of others in the world. I wish you a wholesome and productive life. Live long and proper!

That just has to do with the ignorant people in our society who have no idea what they're talking about...not all people who stay in the projects/or low-income housing are criminals, but that's where alot of criminal activity goes on because people think they can make that quick cash by selling dope, or guns, or whatever...then the well-off always hear about the crime affiliated with government housing, and they automatically assume that's how all the people are. Just keep your head up high, and do something to change your surroundings, don't listen to the uneducated people....

I never believed everyone in prison was guilty nor innocent. Nobody knows. We might have an opinion, but we don't know. What we do know for a fact is that they are broke. Always were, always will be. One can only assume they don't live in Great Falls, Va. nor Long Island N.Y. So I ask you, is this assumption wrong?
I hope this answer just changed a life. Peace.

Admit it. If you live in the projects you have criminals everywhere. One or two might live there but the projects are a breeding ground for crime because people are desparate to make money any way they can. I grew up on the south side of Chicago and I've been there. Don't let the clean white boy avatar fool ya

Because many of them, not most of them, are criminals. I used to live next to a housing project in DC. We constantly had problems with petty crime, gangs, and vandalism. Many neighborhood stores closed or moved because of the high level of crime in the area.

Because people are ignorant. Simple as that.
And you're right. Most hardcore criminals aren't there.
For the most part, they get up and outta there.
