This is not the Matrix. I am not Neo. The differences between these two doors could be nothing. What you need to tell us is that there are no doors. There is only that choice we must make...the most simple and the most complex things in the Universe will only provide us knowledge of themselves after we have experienced them. You 'telling' us that door one will grant us sweet dreams and door two a normal life is neither a certainty or uncertainty.
Then one must consider the state of current existence...'a dark room without any windows....and it has two doors'. I know a lot of people who live with less. You would probably dehydrate and starve...but that COULD be better than either of the two doors which COULD spell your certain doom. Blue pill, red pill, wake up, don't, it's your choice.

The door I know. If I'm dead then there is no chance of finding my sweetest dreams, but alive I can still pursue a rich life in search of the possibilities. Also, if the door did contain my sweetest dreams, would I want to go back to a life knowing that I've already seen the tops, the pinnacles of my dreams?

This is interesting. But it kind of assumes that all of my reality would depend on which door I chose. But with either door, I would be carrying my own self along, with my memories, habits, loves, assets and liabilities.
There's no way I could just leave my Self behind.
So I'd choose the door of the unknown. I already know what's happened so far. Let's try something NEW for a change.
Easy for me to say. I don't have much to lose. Other people, with ties into careers and family life, would not want to throw away the familiar, even if it's causing them grief. They'd feel an obligation to stick things out as they were.

Most humans seek knowledge, so the unknown is a temptation. This would have to be weighed against the potential loss. If the status quo isn't that great, the lure of the unknown would be greater: "No one is more free than he who has nothing to lose." If, on the other hand, life is good where you are, the danger of the unknown would have a lot less appeal. See the Biblical story of the rich man who wouldn't give up his earthly possessions to follow Jesus. Back on the other side, the terror leaders in the Middle East promise the down and out among the Palestinians and others a Paradise for blowing up themselves and "infidels." I suppose the stae of the individual's condition would help answer the question. Human psychology.

I would pick the regular life door because it is not worth going through hell to get what you want from the magical light door.If I wanted anything to be changed I will change it on my own without the help of some worthless door.People who pick the light door are ignorant to me because why change the life you have now going through some door and someone magically changing it for you.Change your own life without help people are just too lazy now a days.

not knowing the odds of the first door leading to my death or my sweetest dreams, I would choose the door to come back to my normal life. I'm pretty happy with what I got and where I'm going, and I'm still young enough to believe that my sweetest dreams are going to come true anyway (and a few already have).

The door to my usual life.
reason being risk is more manageable, a 50 50 chance of anything is not the best odds. Life should never be gambled away. If you have to deside on something do some resurch and come to a conclusion that you can LIVE with.

We are perpetually going through the first door, because it is the door from the present to the future. The other door is the door to the past, to how life *used* to be - be it only seconds ago.

I would open the door that would bring me back to my life. I have a big fear of the unknown. And right now my life is pretty good.
