for girls when do you feel that you are a woman?

Depends on how you take yourself. May be never may be too soon.
It has nothing to do with independence....
It is great to feel young!

When I do something empowering. I have a sort of management
position but I'm very new at it. So whenever I do something right
without having to ask others, I really feel like a woman.

For me, I truly felt like a woman when I became a single mom and started raising my daughter on my own, going to school and working...It screams independence and I'm being a role model to my princess:)

When you have your first child...and put your selfish ways behind you, you put the child first....you learn what sacrifice is about, but have no regrets....you appreciate the gift you have received...and when someone tells you to look out for #1...your child's best interest pops in to your head first and foremost......You are a woman.

I think it's when you know yourself inside and out, and feel secure with yourself, and your decissions. Childbirth is great, but I've seen some females give birth that are mere children.
