I would See a Doctor,by your neck and ear there is a chain of lymph nodes close together which i guess could resemble a vain. Swollen and tender lymph nodes indicate an infection somewhere in the upper part of the body. In order to find out what is causing the inflammation of lymph nodes(if that is in fact the case) you would need to see a doctor.

Not necessarily. I get large, painful bumps behind my ears, that eventually move. (They'll go away and crop up on a different part of the ear). They feel like zits at first, but they are hard. They eventually go away. I've had them for a few years, and my mom has had them forever (she's a nurse, and they don't worry her).

There is also a lady I work with that had the same thing, but she ended up having surgery to get them to go away. She said that they are most present in women with pierced ears ... something about a gland getting blocked.

If you've had them for a while, I wouldn't be concerned about it. It doesn't hurt to get them checked out, just in case it is something that one of the above people stated. I just wanted to let you know that you may not be 'dying' after all, but it's still good to get it looked at.

Take care.

Absolutely....you need to see a doctor, preferably an ear, nose and throat specialist. It could just be an infection and be treated with antibiotics, but doctors will do an exam to make sure it is nothing serious. Remember...the earlier the better!!

You should definitely see your doctor. And I wouldn't put it off. It could be your Carotid Artery. You could already be experiencing a loss of blood flow to your brain. I pray it's nothing serious, but believe it's also nothing to fool around with. God bless!

Could be an infection, or it could be the start of something serious. When in doubt, get it checked out!

I absolutely think you should. It could be signs of a clot somewhere. Have you been working out lately?

Definitely....whenever something unusual is going on, it's always safer to get it checked before it gets worst.
