Marry for love and NOT approval from parents You both will have to live with your mistakes ,not the parents. The parents will get over it in time if they love their child.

I agree with Neerdowellian.
My brother's roommate in college was gearing up for a career, he had two jobs and was nearly done. His dad died and he was called back to Hong Kong to become head of the family. His wife was already chosen for him.
Also, I'm not sure if this is Chinese tradition or Japanese, but a girl went against her parents' wishes and married an American. Her dad disowned her and her mother committed suicide.
They take these things very seriously. They will NOT tolerate you with time.

It sounds like her parents are very traditional, and if so, there is nothing you are going to be able to do to change their minds. If you run off and get married, you are likely to come back to parents who hate not only you but their daughter as well. The best you can do is treat their daughter well and hope they see that you are good for her. But if they're that traditional, not only should you not expect that to work, I would guess that they will try to sabotage you at every turn by introducing "appropriate" men to her at every possibility and talking badly about you at every opportunity. I think you should hang in there and make the effort for as long as you can, but be prepared to move on to somebody whose parents will actually give you a chance.

You couldn't find a charming, beautiful and intelligent girl from you own race?
Anyway, give it some time. Her parents may tolerate you in time (is that what you want or do you want their approval?) OR she may decide that she is no longer interested in you.
You can always use her love for you to pressure her to elope with you. Then, of course, I would begin to question YOUR love for her. Do whatever you think is in HER BEST LONG-TERM INTEREST.
Did I help or did I just make your situation a little more confusing?

Well you have to prove to her parents that you are worthy of their daughter. It is something that is more common today that that of the past. Hopefully if you are sincere they will see this in you and may come to accept the idea of you and their daughter being together. What ever you do, just do not insult them. It will make things worse. Try to look up the history of their culture. Embrace the culture, if you wish.

Try learning more about her ethnic background. ALWAYS be polite. Take your time, don't rush them. If you're a decent guy, they will come to see that. Also, if your girlfriend hasn't already talked with her parents regarding the feelings the two of you have for eachother, she should - BUT in a rational, sensible way. As parents, all we want for our children is what makes them happy and is best for them. Go prove it! :)

who care about her parents, you are going to be living with her, not (at least i really hope not) her parents! Make lots of money, buy a wedding ring and rent an apartment. The girls parents always hate her choice, The father wants to protect his little girl from the bad little boy, and the mother wants her to marry well and wealthy.

Well if your not 18(I'm assuming your not) then wait until you are take her get married then your bound in Holy matrimony! Besides when she turns 18 she can do what she wants! So her parents cant control her forever! You might have to wait but if you truly love her then youll know its worth it! Hope I helped!

I think every one should stick to there own race because its hard enough for people with the same back grounds to get along, and we keep this up there will be other cultures. But thats what they get for moving to America if thats what they wanted they should have never left their country.
