i dont know how to check that my pc is suitable for geforce 4 graphic card. tell me step by step procedure to make sure my pc is suitable for geforce.

check the model of the motherboard and go to the manufacturer website to check the specifications of it . try read ur motherboard manual.

if u lost ur manual book, then install softwares to view the specification of ur computer for example : CPUZ
then u can see the specs of ur mobo and search the model in yaho

I'm going to assume the video card is AGP. If you open the case to your computer and see a couple white slots and one brown one (probably being used by your current video card) you should be ok. It will work but depending how old your computer is though, it may not be 100 percent as fast as it can.. They keep making them faster (AGP 2x, 4x, 8x, etc, but I have an 8x card in a 4x slot and it works fine)

I would say that you would have to be a factory trained engineer to do this.It could be that the guy at the computer store has you doing his work.You would probably need to talk to the store's manager.
