How can you fix a small leak in your roof without being costly?

Patch it. Remove the shingles from that area only, cut out any damaged subroofing, replace it, put tar paper over it, reshingle, and you're done.

If it's small enough like a nialpop or something like that you might be able to put a little roofing tar over it.

Roofing Tar, or "bull"...easy enough to put on...messy though.
