Check out www.kellymom.com for any and all breastfeeding questions. While a very small percentage of women cannot breastfeed most problems with breastfeeding come from bad advice (often from doctors and nurses).

Generally speaking, if you nurse on demand, your body will generate the amount of breastmilk necessary.

you produce actual milk 3 days after the baby is born.[ before they get a liquid important for natural antibodies] most babies need to nurse every 2-3 hours for the first 3 months 5-8 min on each breast the baby well let you know when they've had enough don't forget to burp the baby after nursing it prevents stomach gas pains. and a reminder what you eat so does baby though your milk.

Mothers differ - some cannot produce milk while others can. Nurse as often as the baby wants, you'll replenish it quickly. Your dr will let you know if the baby is not getting enough to eat (by not gaining weight). The baby will never get too much.

Both of my children were bottle babies. Not by choice. I couldn't produce the breast milk with my first child. With my second, I would only have a little squirt here and there. Nothing to satisfy.

Not all Mommies are capable of breastfeeding, I don't care what anyone else says.

I have found that the mother will make all the milk that is drunk as long as it is drunk.

You normally do not have to worry, it all works out. As much as you need and as long as you needed it.
