I also like about.com, but they didn't have much about cd art projects.
Looks like I need to get out my stck and get to work too!
Have fun!

Oh do I have a site for you, since you claim to be a pack rat.

http://www.craftster.org/

Hit the "Enter The Forum" button, you can either sign up and become a member(it's free), so you can post questions and such or just browse around freely without becoming a member. There's a section in the forums for recycling ideas with stuff you have such as those cd's and dvd's. There's alot of great ideas on there. Have fun!

check out about.com....this is a site that I came across 2yrs ago and love it you'll get answers to any and everything about crafts or anything else.....I too have all those Cd's/DVDs and one of the things I made that was a success with my teenage granddaughters was a clock...the part don't cost a lot and you can give them as gifts...I also did coasters..just get some cork squares cut to fit and glue them on...I use the cork on both sides as not to scratch the furniture and I use cement glue or a nice heavy craft glue...good luck crafting...

I used them to make clocks. You can buy clock mechanisms from craft stores like JoAnn's or Michaels, for about $3 each. Glue beads or other "found objects" on the shiny side for the 12, 3,6 and 9 spots, and you have a one of a kind, personalized gift!

If you glue them label to label, you can make an interesting mobile out of them. And an artist friend of mine used them to make a large fish - using the front and back of the CDs alternately to create colorful and shiny scales.

A neighbor hung a bunch in his fruit trees to keep the birds away - it really worked!

At my old job, I used to decorate the office Christmas tree with them every year - they reflect the lights and look fantastic! I also have used them as candle holders with the same results - they add to the shimmer, especially when used in groups.
