Jamaica’s foremost dancehall DeeJay reunites with extraordinary producers The Neptune’s for a combination of innovative tracks, including Tropical Storm’s first single "Feel It Boy" featuring Janet Jackson. Beenie and Neptune hitmakers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have co-written an irresistible R&B jewel highlighted by Jackson’s signature superstar vocals over electro funky riffs. A Dave Meyers directed video, shot on the beaches of Los Angeles features onscreen performances by Beenie Man and Janet Jackson. The Neptune’s also showcase their dancehall licks on "Bad Girl" and "Bossman" the later a drum driven wicked groove featuring Sean Paul and Lady Saw.

UK’s So Solid Crew’s wildly energetic, electronic garage beats give life to "Yagga Yow" and Norway’s top R&B team Stargate, who drop ethereal guitars through the melodic urban "Street Life".
Fans of Beenie’s lyrical prowess won’t be disappointed with DJ Clue’s tight production on the sexually charged hip-hop anthem "Fresh From Yard". Already a mix show favorite, Beenie pairs up with bad girl vixen Lil’ Kim.
Calling on longtime cohorts, Beenie recruits Jamaica’s legendary riddim twins, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare to deliver their trademark original dancehall rhythms on "You Babe". Chart topping trackmaster Dave Kelly captures Beenie’s controversial lifestyle endorsements on "Party Hard" and "Gangsta Life" featuring guest vocalist Baby Cham. "I was impressed and proud to see how Beenie matured into the professional he is now", Kelly asserts.
Further evidence of keeping true to his heart, Beenie taps his fellow Shocking Vibes crew, who seamlessly blend his trademark rapid fire toasting over savvy harmonies with three traditional dancehall tracks, "More We Want" featuring Devonte and Tanto Metro, "Call Me" and "Golden Bathtub" showcasing vocalists Brian and Tony Gold. Taking it to the streets, innovative Tony "CD" Kelly, provides a couple of uptempo dancehall gems, "Miss L.A.P." and "Pure Pretty Gal" sweetened by former Born Jamericans singer Notch.
Destined for stardom, Anthony Moses Davis was born in Kingston, Jamaica on August 22, 1973. Growing up in Waterhouse, one of the capital’s toughest tenements, his childhood was influenced by rasta nyabinghi drum and chant sessions courtesy of local reggae legends including Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Black Uhuru. Realizing music was his only hope out of the ghetto, Beenie began winning DeeJay contests by the early age of six. Encouraged by a supportive family, the streetwise deejay’s passion for music helped him develop a strong work ethic and determination to last a lifetime. Luck brought him together with Shocking Vibes founder Patrick Roberts, and they forged a partnership.
Cutting his first album at ten, the young hopeful sharpened his lyrical skills at King Tubby’s Studio, garnering global attention through Bunny "Striker" Lees production The Invincible Beenie Man, Ten Year Old DeeJay Wonder. By the early 1990's Beenie had worked up the ranks ultimately meeting top producers Sly and Robbie, Bobby Digital and singers like Luciano and Barrington Levy. By 1994 he was voted Jamaican DeeJay of the Year, culminating with a deal on Island Records. Worldwide tours with Shabba Ranks and the Shocking Vibes crew finally confirmed him a star.
The turning point in Beenie Man’s struggle to break in the mainstream market finally came about in March 1998. The single "'Who Am I", taken from his Grammy nominated album Many Moods Of Moses launched Beenie into international stardom
Tropical Storm is an expressive adventure into the 21st century, cut from a stylistically different cloth than Beenie Man’s previous Virgin Records debut, Art and Life, which earned a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. The certified gold album produced two significant radio friendly crossover hits "Girls Dem Sugar" featuring Mya and "Love Me Now", a Wyclef Jean collaboration.
Still in his twenties, Beenie’s long list of achievements includes more than 60 number one singles in Jamaica, numerous #1 albums, top artist awards (Grammy, Tamika, ASCAP, JAMI), acting roles ("Dancehall Queen"), songwriting credits, numerous TV appearances and countless industry accolades. He has also contributed songs on hit soundtracks including Dancehall Queen, How Stella Got her Groove Back, Third World Cop, Bridgett Jones Diary (with No Doubt) and most recently the opening credits of Black Knight.
Keeping his feet planted firmly on the ground, Beenie Man has come a long way from his humble Jamaican beginnings through a remarkable musical journey. When questioned what is next for the international entertainer, he contemplates for a moment, then reveals his masterplan "Tropical Storm is a party album. I want my music to keep the vibes going, bringing joy within the heart, the soul, the mind and make you feel good."
