Nope.
Damn proud of our fighting spirit.
Don't see the same question about German hooligans or Polish hooligans who were outrageous and had more arrests, but hey, why would anyone talk about anyone else other than the English.

Personally, no I am not ashamed. I am proud with the fact that I am not and never will be like that. I am also proud that my children will grow up to have respect. I don't even like football and I don't see why all English people should be ashamed of something or people who are an unfortunate minority. I think the hooligans ought to be ashamed of themselves but they won't because otherwise they wouldn't be hooligans.

Not all of our supporters are hooligans. Unfortunately a minor few give the rest of them a really bad name and yes I am ashamed of those few, who wouldn't be? But don't forget hoolaginism is not just an English thing, other countries have hooligans too....

The Belgians are worse. Fortunately they didn't get through to the finals or there would be much more trouble.

Of course - there are a lot of dickheads about - and even more who can't take their drink. I'll bet half of those arrested are the same ones who regularly get picked up in UK cities for being drunken binge-drinking twats and spoiling everyone elses Saturday nights. I'm glad they've got arrested. Even better if they get banged up in German jails - might make Saturday nights a bit safer over here!

And what's wrong with talking about cheating? Cheating is what SPOILS the game of football.

YES, England are but so are every other country of the world ashamed of THEIR OWN hooligans, and rightly so too. They are not real football fans they are HOOLIGANS!!! Don't confuse good honest fans of any country with the pathetic wasters who cause problems for the rest of the world.

Why should we be the only ones scrutinised for our hooligansim?? I spent some time in Belgium and went to a "friendly" derby, when the match ended 4 people were killed, there were riot vans, helicopters, horse mounted police........the list goes on. We are not the only nation to have a scrap after a football match but we are the only ones who get reported on.
So we like a beer while watching our footy, and tempers flare when the national teams head coach doesn't seem to actually care whether we win or not.....get a Brit in thats my thoughts!!

We should all be ashamed of hooligans regardless of nationality.

But what we really need is for the hooligans to be ashamed

The English take their soccer very serious, I can't think of a sport in the U.S. that has the same fan members so to speak, though NASCAR draws about the same amount of fans to one of their races each fan in cheering for a different driver rather than 150,000 fans cheering for one team. Yes they should be ashamed, this happens at every world cup and the police were ready for this to happen.
