Another idea: Put ice cubes in there and chop 'em up. Cleans it all out.

Something that I have always used when I have a sour smelling disposal is to pour some baking soda (arm & hammer, etc) into the disposal and then follow it up with approx 1/2 c of white vinegar. After it stops bubbling, your smell should be gone.

Sounds like there is something in the disposer that hasn't been totally digested.
Every few days, I run a couple handfulls of ice down the disposer. Then I put an orange or lemon down it that has been cut up. It even works if you eat the orange, then just run the orange peels down.
Good luck --

Try using chlorine bleach, not too much. OR, use a half of a lemon, cut in several pieces & let the garbage disposal "clean itself" with that .

Someone said this already but it's sooooooooooooo true. If you use lemons and limes, don't throw out the rinds--run them through your disposal.

Use ice cubes once a week to clean it out and use baking soda after cleaning.

All good ideas. Clean it with bleach then keep it smelling good by running citrus fruits thru it.
