regardless of who my favorite may be, they'll just end up selling out or evolving into some new music style that i think is terrible....but for right now i'd have to say my favorite band is between Underoath and/or NOFX.....however i just prefer local bands
As for favorite type of music, punk rock (and not that lame **** that people call punk today), metalcore and emo.....
