Children can purchase, set off, and not get hurt using fireworks. (Here in China)

Yes... Where I live,you can buy all over the state,except one county, they have something against 4th of July,and banned fireworks. Seems if you just light a punk will get you fines and jail time.

NO stupid gov't wants to keep us "safe".

When I was a kid we could buy and shoot them off all the time. I don't even know of one person who's been hurt by fireworks. You alwways hear these horror stories but I think they are very uncommon. I went to India during Diwali when they shoot tons of fireworks off. No one got hurt or died. They and I just had lots of fun.

Govt is way too protective.

Unfortunately, fireworks are illegal in the state of Illinois.
Fortunately, Indiana is only a half hour drive away.

So yes I can buy them, I just have to smuggle them back home lol
