There's only a few around but they're always around. They seem to stay in the area where the ground is wet. I can't find a nest and when I spray them they stay away for a few days then return. I just don't want my wife getting stun.

This will sound crazy but it actually works.

Get a 2 liter bottle of Coke or something sweet like it, don't use diet as for they hate diet. Leave just enough in the bottom of it to attract them, and sit it where you see them most often. This is the good part, they are so stupid that they will go in the bottle to check things out, but won't be able to get out.

Try it and see if it works. We have wasps galore here, and I have sprayed and sprayed myself. Then I heard about this trick, especially handy when picnicking, so I tried it. Worked for me!!!

Good luck, and death to the wasps!!!

When I was younger I used to be terrified of wasps but have learned that they realy dont sting for no reason so now can work in the yard with no fear of them buzzing around.. however if you are worried get a wasp trap, they are probably looking for a drink which is why they are near the wet ground.. spaying is never good because it pollutes the air and is dangerous for you to breathe in, and only kills those who are in the area that time...
reduce attractants - like hummingbird feeders etc.

I found the best thing to do and it the Cheapest; Just ignore them. Wasps not out to eat people, but, small insects and spiders. They probably just getting a drink or using the wet dirt for their nests. When you start freaking out and acting like you attacking them, they do what most people will do and fight back to defend themselves or their nests.

You need to find the nest friend, or you're just wasting your time. When and if you find the nest, ammonia works real well in getting rid of them. Sometime it takes two treatments but they don't like it and they'll leave.
