He had an incredibly large body of work and almost never failed to give the TV viewing public what they liked to watch, and often before they knew they wanted to watch it.

Not bad for a guy who looked like the creepy preacher from "Poltergeist 2."

LOS ANGELES - Aaron Spelling captivated generations of television viewers with shows like "Charlie's Angels" and "Beverly Hills 90210" and left an indelible stamp on American pop culture, but he never won the critical acclaim he sought.

One of the most prolific TV producers in history, Spelling chafed at the lowbrow label critics assigned his many hit series. He called his shows "mind candy," while critics referred to them as "mindless candy."

Spelling died Friday at his Los Angeles mansion after suffering a stroke on June 18, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki. He was 83.

I just read about that and all of his accomplishments.

I didn't really care for much for some of his shows because I thought they were cheesy and I can't stand his daughter Tori but he was a very talented man.

I think he lived a pretty full life but it is always sad when people die.

I hope no one feels the need to carry on his legacy. I'm sure his family is sad but good grief that man produced more trash in his lifetime than all networks combined.

I couldnt believe it!! There wasnt a big write up about it here in Oz, but I keep an eye on him due to his connection to Carolyn Jones. anyway, she's got him back now.
