I'd have to say "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland. (although I also loved Katherine's version on American Idol).
Regarding the Wizard of Oz, it amazes me to hear that they almost cut the song since the movie was too long & moving a bit slow. Luckily, they kept it in (and won an Oscar for it).
