many phones/providers dont allow that, simply because they want you to buy their ringtones. check the booklet that came with your phone.
the easiest way to try it is to email one of your songs to your phone as a text message with sound attachment and try to set the song as a ringtone.

Umm if your phone has a recording thingy, you can record it on you phone and some phones let you use the recordings as a ringtone but other than that can't help you hottie.

well my brother has a phone where he can record sounds on his phone and then he can go to them and put them as ringtones...if you have a phone like that, all you have to do is record one of your songs on your phone and then place it as your ringtone

I have cingular all I do is log on to the website and download music from my computer and send it to my phone
