I was "around " when Jim was alive! I know it is no use to try to explain it was a different world we lived in then. Society was in flux the culture was changing! He was relevant in his time and a nice person off stage! Movies are not true! They only Fictionalized one facet of his life. I miss him and Janice Joplin & Jimmy Hendrix but their time was up! He did have an otherworldly quilaty to his voice that comes through.

Maybe it is not him that you miss rather its what he symbolizes to you. I am not sure what that is since I don't miss him and the movie about his life made me not like him as a human being.
