What do you do to help?

What little things do you do to help out our environment, other people, animals? Please share...maybe others will get some good tips.
(And please, if you just want to post something ridiculous, do it somewhere else. If you just want the points, just type in "points".)

I personally buy only free trade coffee, I buy all my produce at local farms (when I can), I take arts and crafts supplies to the community center for after school kids, I take cleaning supplies to the local humane society and I donate all my old items to the DAV instead of holding a yard sale:)

It's great that you walk or take the train. I wish that I lived in an area where that was possible and I think it brings up a good point...the US needs a better public rail system, like they have in Europe.

Small things? I don't litter on the streets. I recycle whatever I can, I walk or take a train when I know I don't need a car. I keep in touch with people (because you never know if someone is depressed and needs to talk), and I encourage my friends to adopt pets.

Enviro: reeduce reuse recycle, i try not to throw away plastic containers because I live alone and am often freezing left over food and I some times do a batch cooking( like a large pot of chili because you can not make a small pot and get the right flavour) and then divide it into usable portions and freeze most of it for later. plastic tubs can be used several time and I do not end up paying ridiculous prices for freezer tubs. turn out lights, turn off computer,( this also make it less likely to get virus or malwares) keep my car tuned and in good shape(old car) so that it burns less fuel and oil. Go for a walk now and then.
People:I try to be a bit tolerant, sometimes people can be real as*ses, either through idiocy or malice or just through self centered unaware of other or themselves ignorance, but live and let live is a good attitude to cultivate. mind you now and then you have to shout to be heard and some of the goofs on this blue marble should be nuked.
animals: again I try not to cause un-needed pain or suffering. I am not an animal rights-er, I am not a vegetarian or vegan what ever those might belive in. i at present only have a few small goldfish as pets, mainly because they are easy to look after, a dog or a cat would require to much care and attention from me at this time and would only suffer loneliness and insufficient attentiveness on my part, also I am away much of the time, even the gold fish get neglected nopw and then but they have a large tank and can miss eating for two or three days with no problems, it is natural diet schedule for them. I try (most important) not to interfere with the places wild animals live or with the things(brush piles, creek banks, tangles of shrubs, etc) that they need to live. Wild animals live short and usually harsh live, no need to make it worse for them and a small injury or damage to their shelter or food supply can often mean that they are unable to raise young or may even die out of an area. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CATS RUN FREE. Cats are prfect little killing machines and have destroyed many song bird populations in towns and cities, even in the countryside cats can be populous enough to virtualy eliminate all the birds in areas around people.

I usually organize food drives for my community, and sometimes do the big brother program, I also tutor kids in the inner city schools, and occassionally do a community clean up with the many organizations I am in.

when u saw ppl doin something that harm the environment.take photograph of that as evidence and report it. But becarful things will get ugly if that person caught u taking his pic

i do nothing..
it will help them grow stronger by them self..

coz i think if we help to much.. they become weak..
dont give them fish, but a tool to catch the fish..

mm.. once i help to a cocoon that grow to butterfly..
