Weather in Delhi in July 1st week: Monsoon is expected to set in any time on or after June 29 ( official date!!!!). If it rains - hot and humid weather, lot of water on the roads, streets. If no rains - hot weather day in day out. Early mornings are little better, thereafter sweating starts endlessly under you are under cooler or AC.

Your stay at General Bazaar: Neither me nor any of my colleagues say that they have heard of a place by this name in Delhi in 30 years, unless it is a small street in any of the localities of Delhi.

Your Tours by Delhi Tourism: If you have to catch Delhi Tourism coaches from their Baba Karak Singh Marg Office, Near Coffee Home, Connaught Place, it is 2.5 kms by foot from the Paharganj side of the New Delhi Station, by road transport, it may work out 4-5 kms (due to one way traffic restrictions or alternate routes).

If your city tour does not cover Akshardham Temple, you may go there by your own. It takes about 3-4 hours to completely see the temple including their shows (ticket for shows Rs.125 for adults; children & senior citizens have concessions). Again from New Delhi Railway Station, Paharganj side, take an auto rickshaw (distance about 11-12 kms via Minto Road - ITO, actual cost Rs 44 to 48 for max three passengers). Avoid taking public transport as it may not be convenient and would be time consuming).

Have a nice time and be careful about locality names.

The best way to reach any place in delhi from the NDLS (New Delhi Station) are

1. to go to the prepaid auto booth and take an auto (for Akshardham and others),
2. take the metro (for CP, Chandni Chowk).
