The characteristics of research is spending a lot of time and energy in finding out about the topic you are studying.
There is primary and secondary research.
Secondary research involves finding information about something on the Internet, reference books, newspapers, magazines,
Primary research involves even more work, it can mean doing studies, surveys. Interviews with professors, and educators, or people in general by taking "poles".
The university which I attend is a "Research University" meaning they get funds for doing research on all types of studies. The professors are researching topics like economics, science, music, medicine, etc.
They are manufacturing information....by generating new thoughts on the basic questions of what they have their doctorates in.
That is why I love going there. I hope to help a professor with some research later on...
