I had a sonogram at 5 wks and they only saw one yolk sac. Is there still a possibility it could be twins? I'm 8 weeks now and I've already outgrown my clothes..well, they are very tight. My belly already looks big (for two months) which may be bloating. But I'm just wondering if there is still a chance of twins. They run in the family so I know I'm "at risk" for twins. I've also been having cramping for the past few weeks and I'm sure it's ligaments and such. With my first pregnancy I didn't experiance that until 16 wks. Thanks

its possible, but remeber if this is your second child then everyone goes alot faster and eariler for you like, you tend to put more weight on your belly gets bigger in the 2nd pregnancy then the 1st you feel the baby kick eariler hiccup eariler everything is generally eariler this is probably why u've noticed that you belly has grown faster this time around

5 wks is awfully early to have an ultrasound!

Sometimes twins are in the same sac. However, women tend to plump up much faster with a second pregnancy. I know I did!

I'm a mom to a 2-yr-old daughter and 2-mo-old b/g twins, btw!

They didn't find out I had twins till week 15. My doctor had an outdated songram machine. He gave me that test that checks for spinabifida and down syndrome. then he sent me to genetic specialist. They all thought I had a sick baby but, it was just twins. So I would say YES you could be having twins. They also say you gain more weight with your second so it could not be twins.

my last pregnancy with twins was 2 years ago and they were in the same sac, they could only get one on ultrasound and only hear one heart beat, when i hit about 4 months (with significant weiight gain) that finally saw the second and heard the seperate heart beats.

yes.
I am an identical twin and my mom did not know that she was having twins until a week before we were born.
We were hiding behind each other in the ultra sound so the doctor never knew that there was two of us until a week before we were born
