Why aren't there bullet-proof pants?

There are precious things in the pants.....how can we protect those?

As a rule, BP clothing is bulky and cumbersome, so people only wear just enough to protect the vital organs, but I'm with you on this one, I'd at least like to be wearing a pair of bullet proof boxers to go along with my vest!

Well, I have often asked why they don't wear head gear, it seems to me that is a delicate part of the body also. Then someone (not on Yahoo! Answers *gasp*) pointed out that shooters aim for the largest target...the torso. I take your point though, and next time I find myself in a shootout I am going to protect that region a little more carefully, lol.

All the best body armour (as distinct from Stab Proof vests) I have seen, have had a flap that protects the 'Crown Jewels).

There are different types of body armor, the higher levels, (like those used by SWAT teams) do protect the groin area

Because we wear trousers over our pants, why would you be walking around in just your pants? Wouldn't you be really cold?
