I don't think that being subjective is a virtue. If anything, being objective is a virtue. When you say virtue I assume you mean something that is valued and perhaps a rare quality? But most of us are subjective most of the time. We live our lives based on feelings, desires, hopes and aspirations. These are all purely subjective and vary greatly from one individual to the next. A prime example is "success". By definition, success is very subjective because personal success depends on the individual goals and how one perceives their own outcomes. I may say I am successful, while an onlooker may say I am unsuccessful at any given task or career. Since most things we do in life are measured by our own standards rather than a measured set of qualitative values, I would have to say that in my opinion, subjectivity is the standard, and therefore not a virtue.

Hmmmm? Well, depends on a lot of things here, including "Virtue" and how you are perceiving the definition of "Subjective".
People seem to be generally self-decisive in the USA. We make decisions based on experiences more than facts. From this point of view it may not be a virtue. This about all I can say, your question leaves room for complicated and mixed concept answers. But, I think I answering for what you looking for, this my opinion and there may be others.

It is a privilege to think for ourselves, and a virtue to subject ourselves to the discipline of monitoring our behavior, shaping our thoughts and making good choices in both. It is however a discipline, a journey of ups and downs not an attainment. More like a fleeting moment of transcendence.

Many things in the US are subjective - but especially when it comes to politics. People flat out refuse to see the truth that the rest of the world sees so clearly. The truth is too uncomfortable perhaps.

I don't think it is a virtue in any part of the world, sometimes you have to very very objective to analize a problem or a situation, putting apart your feelings or emotions.

I don't think it's a virtue as so much as a privilege to be able to think for ourselves. Contrary to what outsiders think, there are Americans who consistently aspire to learn the facts.
