I have seen spyware do this, have you scanned the system with spybot or adaware? This could also indicate a denial of service attack.

Defenitely it may be due to ur systems driver problem. Try reinstalling your lan drivers first...
or if it fails replace the lan card to another slot if available otherwise take it out and replace it to the same slot. Then reinstall all the drivers for LAN card. Don't forget to restart the all system"S". Also restart while uninstalling and reinstalling.

as far as i can think of is are connecting the right plug if yes then ur system is trying very hard to establish that connection.i say u first check whether the cable u r using is the correct one.

Install spyware or adwares. Also install registry cleaner to clean windows registry.

maybe your computer have a trojan..
that keep sending something via network.. then your computer hang..

try download and run anti virus program
