Sleep provides rest and restoration for our inner life the nervous system. The blood is oxygenated without any demands being made upon it. The muscles and skeletal system are freed from any tension. All systems of the body fall below their normal operating levels. The intelligence in the physical body takes over. New information from both body and mind is being reorganized with existing information. This is a carefully orchestrated process. The unconscious mind dances with intuition the vibrations echo through our being so that upon waking we can sense them. Some call this dance dreams. Fatigue overloads the nervous system and it is unable to process information and be we become dazed and fried. The body is called to rest; by gently closing our eyes and allowing us to nod off. We perish without sleep.

we have 24 hours a day
generally we work more than 12 hours in a day and some hours of personal work. so that the body and mind will be tired. it requires some rest to work in the next day.
if u sleep around 6 hours in a day that will be sufficient time for the body and mind to regain the energy.
thats why we require sleep everyday

I think we need to sleep every day so as we can dream and our dreams can sort out everything we did during the day.
I also think that we need to sleep so that our bodies can relax, like someone else said, our bodies are like mobile phones that need to recharge, it's also to give our brains a bit of a rest.
You should always go to bed and go to sleep when your Mum and Dad tell you to, that way, you'll grow up to be even more clever and lovely than you are now! :)

During the day our brain is working very hard to process all the information it's taking in.There is so much information it can't process all of it so it stores some of it away.At night when we're asleep the brain is actually still trying to make sense of the information. It's what we call dreaming.
We also need sleep to help repair any damage to the body or fight off a cold.

You don't you just need to sleep sometime. For example I have gone 36 hours without sleep before. I wouldn't recommend it, but you don't have to sleep everyday.

It's like re-charging batteries. You just can't go on forever without taking a rest. The REAL reason that we even need to sleep or "re-charge" is, as far as I have learned and listened to discussions, acctually unknown to science. My personal opinion is to basically allow our minds to rest and let us be "at peace" with ourselves, otherwise there would probably be a lot more people with mental health disorders.

Sleeping is a neessary function that allows the body's organs to replenish. When we sleep, our organs slow down and rest and conserve the energy that they need to keep working and keep us healthy. We would die without sleep.
