undo the dysons caseing, follow the grey wire until you get to the terminal block, unscrew it and the wire will be freed. If you replacing the wire, you wont have to replace the full wire-just snip the part where the break is (if its close to the actual hoover) split the wires and replace the terminal bock.

Apparently its easier than it sounds-my boyfriends done several before, where the wire breaks cos you pull pn the hoover trying to make it reach places it really cant reach!!

Yep... but it's too fiddly to describe here... It can be done, you will end up with the thing in far too many bits, but it does go together again without problem..

Where are you, I'm near Gloucester and can do it for you if you're within practical distance...

on the back of the Handel their is a button, just push it, it is right behind the on button, but on the back side of the handle.
