Psychology has no value in everyday life. It is not science , it is BS. Human Behaviors are far too complex to be put into the little categories that psychologists use to classify people. If you want to understand how people behave in a given set of conditions place your self in that set of circumstances and you will see there are just too many alternatives to select from. And this is only for one person.
However cooking has useful applications in everyday life and cooking is a dying art. Cooking is much more of a science that psychology.

I'm assuming you're talking about basic knowledge of psychology, what almost everyone has acquired now. Well, here are some examples. We know that people get hurt, get damaged, from certain circumstances they lived, and we are less judgmental. We also know that smiling gets you more. We know that we should not repress how we feel, but say it from an "I" point of view, rather than again passing judgment. We know communication is key. We know kids must go through phases, of which separating, even hating, their parents. And we know to go seek a psychotherapipst if we are stuck with a decision we can't make or are depressed. Hey, we know how to recognize depression!
