talk to the company, i never had that problem but when i realized i had the wrong graphics card, they told me where i could get a new one for the cheapest price around where i live.
Close out all programs when you are installing it, and running it, do nothing but what it tells you to. No msn, No Yahoo no nothing when it is installing or it may frig up, and try restarting first

Hey be careful with those Sims games coz they mess up u'r computer. My sister bought the Sims 2 game and it installed but after a while it starts to crash & they make u'r computer really slow and it takes 4 ever to turn off.

Make sure you have enough memory. Then try again from the beginning if it still does it call the company and they'll be able to help you, you could just have a bad game disc (I had it happen to me) and just return it and get another one.
