Uhh...I dunno. I suppose humans were meant to survive both hot and cold weather. If it is weather you are asking about. I think that being extremely hot or extremely cold is a whole other issue. No human is meant to survive the extremes without some protection or shelter. This is, however, a part of evolution and learned behavior. Uhh mostly instinctual to be exact. In other words your brain knows that when its too cold, dress in layers and stay inside, vice-versa.

I think (and it maybe because I live in a country with cold winters) that cold is better since you can always put on more layers of clothes if you are cold. If you're too hot, there's nothing you can do but lay in front of the fan (I don't have AC). With hot weather, and especially when the humidity is high, energy seems to be zapped from you. I tend to lose weight during the winter since you have to dress in layers so you put on your ski pants and a couple of sweaters and then your downfilled coat to go shovel the driveway and then realize you have to go to the bathroom so you take it all off again. You have to wear good warm boots and then walking through 7" of snow or more makes you lift your feet up, exercising your leg muscles. You tend to walk more quickly thus burning more calories. And then there's the bugs....you don't have to worry about West Nile virus and mosquitoes, wood ticks or wasp stings. Yes, winter is much better for you.

Okay, let me just say, I am NOT a doctor.
Anyway, I think it just depends on the person, I like the heat better than the cold. Whereas my mom, likes the cold better. And my friend doesn't really care, he still wears a t-shirt and jeans, even in December (Northern Hemesphere).

Warm...98.6 , extreem hot then extreem cold then back to hot and so on, is a great way to purge muscles of toxins and bad blood. If it's too hot your body turns on it's air conditioner, too cold it turns on it's furnace. your body knows what is better.

um, as long as you're comfortable...
i'd say hot, cause you can take off the layers...and walk around nakkid...and hope there's water near by...
if you're cold, and you don't have extra clothing, then you're pretty much screwed...
