As convoluted as that question is, first I personally vote best answer to Leogirl0804. And as a side note, while wishing all english off Ireland, the incepet hatred and vile of "arifin ceper", dims in comparison.

At the end of the day the bottom line is both the UK and the greater part of mainland Europe stand indebted to the USA.
The USA's initial lend lease, support and ultimate entry into the conflict (by no mean forgetting world war 1) and its sacrifice in supporting and in major instances taking the war directly into the enemies own back yard, ably led and commanded by its own military men is not forgotten either in the UK or across Europe.
I grew up in the UK during and after the war. My Father and countless men who served during the war never forgot what the USA rendered and redeemed in Europe. Not forgetting our mothers & grandparents silent prayers and thanks for their help.
My children know of it - history records and taught it to them and to their children. Today, both nations still stand together, support each other, respect each other and without question defend each others sovereignty. I also agree with comments expressed herein by others in that we do go back a long, long way together.
If we are divided then I can only again quote the words of Winston Spencer Churchill.
Albeit "but by a common language"
As an ex-serving military man - long may our association last!

Great Britain and the US are allies. I don't think either does what they feel is not good for their own countries.

What makes you think its that way round? You got our govt to let you use us as a launch pad for your nuclear weapons, your airbases weren't even considered English territory or covered by English law. You got our govt. to follow you to Afghanistan (Why are we there again?) and Iraq.
Whats your point?

You should give us examples or evidence to support your statement. Apparently, I don't think they do.
