There are several theory's about this but the one I know was told by my daughters. OB-GYN. She miscarried in January and was told that the time varies in determination of length of pregnancy before the loss. My daughter was only a few weeks along and became pregnant less thenan a month later. My sister(I'm from a large family with siblings in their early to late 20's) lost her baby in her 8th month. She did not ovulate for nearly six to eight weeks later. The best determination is YOU! I would suggest finding a GREAT OB-GYN! If you are attempting to get pregnant again you should talk to your OB-GYN they help determine this by patterns in your periods from previous months. Ovulation is usually 4 to 6 weeks after. But as I said everyone is different and this varies depending on several factors. GOOD LUCK!

My daughter had one last week and the Dr told her to wait one full cycle before resuming intercourse, presumably to allow the body to restore itself. Initially I thought this was to make sure that there was no infection but the Dr said that she only needed to refrain from intercourse for a week for that, the other three was to ensure she didn't fall pregnant to quickly after the loss of her baby.
