You've got to have the gift of the gab.
Believe in what you're selling and promote it without going over the top. Be confident, well-presented and treat your customer with a lot of respect. Most importantly, bear in mind that YOU are doing them a favour!

i've been one for over 20 years and i would say thick skin is a must. you must believe in your product or you will project negativity to your potential buyer.you must be very self critical...if you are not selling well...it is very easy to blame external factors such as...the weather... the area you are working...the customers etc....the problem is you! you must change your apprach, style, body language etc.dont be pushy- be laid back but assertive and confident...do your homework on your product and listen to your customers ...set your own realistic targets...sales managerssometimes set you unrealistic targets which can leave you deflated...keep yourself fit as your mind and body work together because it can be mentally exhaustive at times.......take your time as i have seen many many people burn out in this game...but most of all ...enjoy it !!!your customers will also pick up on this...i hope this has helped...feel free to e-mail me

one thing customer really hates is make them believe you are just after they money nothing else, how to avoid such thing is by being honest just say the the truth even that you not going to sell your product and do not turn your back to them as soon as you get the money from them keep your smile until they leave the store and give full intention to theme even if they not buying!!
