First lets get something out of the way

Microsoft Outlook Express(OE) is very basic email software bundled with windows. It is VERY basic. If you have a windows at home then yes you can use it for business and home use, however for business use it will limit your productivity if you are getting 10 to 100 emails a day.

Microsoft Office Outlook(or just OUTLOOK for short) comes bundled with some Microsoft Office Packages. It is for more advanced users, and is better suited for businesses.

If you intend using MS Office outlook check that your lisence allows for you to load it on more than one computer, if not then Outlook express should do fine. Alternativly you could try something like Mozilla Thunderbird which is technically more secure than Outlook express.

Both versions of outlook support various forms of connectivy so you can download your mail at work via the network while you can use dial up or broadband at home. All Outlook/OE care about is how to connect and then it needs the correct Pop/smtp information to get your mail from the server.

Absolutely not--you will find a number of very useful features to Outlook Express--take a tour of the CNET site and click into the email programs for all of the add-ons available for the Outlook programs---the add stationary feature alone is an additon that provides punch to your email that can be very useful in special situations to spark up mail to friends and associates

I used Outlook express for many years at home, it's part of the normal Office package and totally usable on a home computer.

Outlook express can be used by anyone who buys it. Its part of either office or works packages and is a simpler version of Offie Outlook. If you buy the software you can use it but its not a stand alone product, you have to buy the package.

Avoid outlook. Avoid outlook express. Both are regularly exploited by viruses as they are set up by default to allow all kinds of silly things. I recommend another email client such as thunderbird (from http://www.mozilla.org).
