If you are just talking about this world cup alone, the leading scorer is Miroslav Klose of Germany and he has 4 goals. And then Hernan Crespo of Argentina, Fernando Torres of Spain, Lukas Podolski of Germany, Maxi Rodriguez of Argentina, and Agustin Delgado of Ecuador each has 3 goals. There are even more players who have 2 goals. Please go to http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/stats/detail.html?section=ia&sort=GF for more details.

However, if you are talking about all time highest, then after the two goals Ronaldo of Brazil got in the match against Japan, he has tied the top spot with Gerd Muller of Germany who has 14 goals. Just Fontaine of France has 13 and Pele of Brazil has 12.
