You cannot sent fresh foods (like cake). Customs will destroy it! You can only send things like candy, chocolate, biscuits etc which are in sealed packages. You can't send things like meats, cheeses, fresh nuts, fruits and vegetables because they may carry a disease or bacteria foreign to that country.

This is correct. Any type of food that could spoil or mold cannot be sent...that would include a cake. I would suggest ordering a cake online from a US company and have them ship it to the person you want. They will guarantee freshness, it will be promptly delivered and should solve your problem. Likely shipping from within the US will be cheaper and I know a lot faster. Your cake would never be fresh by the time it got here.

It is true,No food items are allowed in the U.S.A.
I would just try and get a hold of a place in the states and have them make the cake a deliver it,alot of the places I know of do that.

I am a class mom and I know when we have parties, we have to follow guidelines of only 25% "junk" foods, the rest should be more healthy. I once brought in a fruit tray, complete with tooth picks and a chocolate yogurt dip (store made) and a regular yogurt dip. The kids loved it! You would be surprised how many kids actually do eat and like fruits, I would try that.

I think a tin would be better than a box and what is the worst that could happen? It could be destroyed but most likely will get to its destination.
