freedom of expression is a great thing, its democracy, but sometimes people take too much advantage of the priviledge or right if you may say so. media and tabloids, that is. da vinci code is a work of fiction. fiction meaning its not true. its dan brown's right to make a novel, have it published and earn money( alot of money in his case). i see nothing wrong with the book or the freedom of expression that he exercised by writing and publishing it.

I think everyone should repsect eachothers beliefs or things that are dear to someone. However, in Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown repeated the different school of thoughts of Christianity and these ideas existed throughout the history of Christian religion. And no one bothered much about it. I am surprised at the reaction now.
As far as freedom of expression is concerned. There should be no compromise on it. But do you think it really exist in this world? Most of time we are told half truth by mass media.
Again, I must say freedom of expression dose not mean to pass derogatory remarks to someone's religion. It should be based on respect and consideration. But there shuold be no compromise on exposing truth__there is a clear difference between redicule and truth.

I loved this book. I think it just goes to show how someone expressing an idea that goes against so many people's beliefs can cause political and social disaster. After all, nobody set rules down that certain things concerning religion couldn't be written about in books..? I think Dan Brown done a great job, and just because he wrote this novel doesn't mean the idea put across are necessarily true, it's just a concept he is exploring. The people out to get him claiming he's a satanist just need to chill. :D
