I have always thought it was so strange how some white people would put down dark skin people and then go get a tan. I think it must be that white people are jealous of dark people. People always but down people they are jealous of for some reason. I can only give that side of the opinion because I'm white. Why on earth would a dark person want to be white? Dark people have such nice skin and don't show signs of aging so quick.

it just depend on the person yes Filipinos tan very nice! I like to look at a nice tan but I'm white and that's what color I'm so I try to stay away from those harmful ray's, but most people are never happy in what they are; there to envy of the other.

Silly Q... I'm tan and want to be more tan. White folk want to be white... that's why they are white, otherwise they would find a nice sunny place to bake or locate a tanning booth somewhere... Filipino Tan is an optical illusion. I can't help you anymore.

There was a time in history that "tanned" people were looked down at because of the color of their skin. They were the "workers" of the fields or the uneducated who had to labor out in the sun. The people of "fairer" skin saw themselves as superior because they did not have to labor out in the sun like those of color. Funny thing, after the passing of time it is now the "in" thing for those of the "fairer" complexion to be tanned. Now they relate "tanned skin" with being healthy and wealthy. Healthy because they don't look like pale and anemic and wealthy because they have enough money to be relaxing leisurely and traveling to exotic places. Look at all the products that are canned "tans"! My goodness will someone tell them that cooper, orange and various shades in between are not "real" tans. How foolish they are and how lucky those of us with a higher melanim count are! Too bad common sense doesn't come in spray or lotion form. No matter what your natural skin tone is, use sunblock when you are out in the sun, male and female alike.

People are never totally happy with how they are...I'm living somewhere where one of the biggest things advertised on TV is whitening cream to eventually bleach your skin so your face looks whiter. While popular with the locals, all the tourists spends all day sun burning themselves on the beach for the opposite effect!
When will people realise there are more important things in life than what colour your face is.

It is a rule of nature that what you do not have,one struggles to achieve and what you have,is not required.This is even within kids.They would try to grab cheaper toy from other kid even if he has a much costlier toy in his hand.One should remain contended with what one has .A well known idiom is best suited for this situation.'A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.;

It's been like this for awhile. I blame society for setting the standard of "beauty". Alot of people want to be someone they're not, the only thing those of us who are happy with who we are should do is just smile and nod,... then point and laugh.
