I had no idea it was okay. Good for you for ignoring the criticism enough to take charge of your own health, anyway. And I do wish you success.
May I share with you some tips? First, less fat in the food means less fat on the body. If a foods calories are 1/4 or less from fat, they are lowfat and eating them will help you shed the pounds. Ex.: If a food has 100 calories, only 25 or less can come from fat. Labels break the calories down for you nowadays and this is the simplest way to calculate. Ignore labels like lowfat, etc. Eat well. Examples of lowfat foods, cooked vegetables before we slap on the margarine, (Smart Balance is good), salads, fruits, beans (even some burritos), many others.
Second, the "E" word-exercise--you know--but on your own level. Don't give up. (If you're super-motivated, Bill Phillips has a challenge out every year that helps people transform their bodies. If the pictures are to be believed, the results are amazing. I don't agree with everything about his plan, but it might be a fun way to make the transformation before settling into a less grueling lifestyle approach. (www.bodyforlife.com))
Third, a balance of proteins, carbs and the vitamins and minerals you get from fruits and vegetables is a sensible approach. Beware of "diets" that tell you to starve yourself of any of these, including Atkins, etc.
Remember as you get closer to your desired weight, muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're working out and getting more muscle consider that in your weight calculations.
Blessings to you. You've got nothing to prove to anyone but yourself. Buttercup

It is not okay to be prejudise against a fat person nor for someone's race.SOme people though tend to build up hatred for anything they don't understand or are not familiar with .Hatred is in all nationalities .As a latin american my family is open to other nationalities , we also have many difference mixes in our family so it is normal . My friends are not base on their race.I do have a friend who is hungarian and while we were on vacation years ago in the states she experienced reverse discrimination from some black girls(thats whyI mean it does sometimes go both ways) It is sad that in our worl their is ignorant people !!!!! but the come from many different cultures they are not Isolated .As for being fat! Our society has stereotyped what is normal If you go to museum you would find figures of women who were pretty pudgy to say the least ....but back then that was the idea of beauty .Not everone who is fat by the way eats alot for many it is a condisition ! I was5'8 120 punds and due to pcos ( which is considered a condition/decease that occurs in 10% of women I gained 40 lbs in 2yrs and now am on medication that I was diagnosed with it to help ...by the way best of luck in your diet...their is a previous person who sad fat people are gross to look at ...well their may be a girl that might say (his face ) is gross to look at ...get to a healthy weight ...it benefits you better

Don't stay eating
Just eat health
Because you will just put on more weight
Anyway being fat isn't all that bad
And being too skinny isn't health
It all depend on your body type
Most people do not understand

I think people are afraid of big/large people. Thinking it could happen to them. They don't understand the pain being very overweight can cause=physically and mentally. It's a hard situation.

Because fat people are gross to look at... And, another thing - its OK to be prejudice against anything you want to be prejudice against. Its just the government has enacted laws to try to make people act and behave a certain way.

Not all people are like that....My mother once told me that people are so stereotyped...they think that people that are overweight are Lazy and smell bad...which is not true...That's wonderful that you have lost weight...you have to do think about Ur health...Who cares what others think? You have to live with Ur skin....so it matters only WHAT YOU THINK....but Ur health is in danger if you are overweight...think about Ur heart,,,your liver.,,,and possible diabetes....Good Luck

people will put down on others to make themselves look good or project their own self hatred on to others....it's easier to deal with for some people than hating themselves out right....
