well, not to take anything from Germany's performance as they truly deserved to win, I dont think that Lucic deserved that second yellow card.

As for seeing Korea all over again, I dont think that the disgrace and blatant cheating that we saw in Korea will ever be repeated again in any tournament. It was way too much....

I just hope Germany doesnt get any favors from the referees when they play Argentina

Not at all. The referee gave sweden a chance to come back in the second half with the penalty and Larson pretty much blew Sweden's chances of ever fighting back.

Also, Germany was already two goals ahead and Sweden never looked like they could even get a goal in with Germany's 62% ball possession and over 20 shots on goal. Strangely, Sweden played better with 10 men so the referee cannot be accused of helping Germany, especially given that Lucic was sent off for two correct bookings.

No, I don't think so. The referee was quite in his right to show Lucic the yellow card for his foul, and since he had already seen a yellow card before, the red had to follow automatically. If referees would be too shy to show red, players on one yellow card could feel safe and keep playing rough.
With regards to the flow of the match, the loss of Lucic did not really much damage to Sweden and in fact confused the Germans more than the Swedes. Even though I had hoped for at least one more German goal (or perhaps even two), Germany was clearly the stronger and better skilled team and deserved to win the match.

Well you are talking about Korea here,Korea there...but if you guyz know a little bit about soccer history, then you are not blaming only Korea. There were referees injustices way before Korea WC. For example Argentina vs Germany in Italy 90 WC. Argentina lost because of an unfair ref.
The whole idea about FIFA worldcup is a CRAP!!! There are lots of corruption going on inside that organization. The worldcup generate VIOLENCE and HATE. People open your eyes everything related FIFA is a BS!!!

There should be a referees college, it's an absolute disgrace the refereeing at the best of what the world has to offer in the way of football.

all ruined by pompous little *** ends who think we are all there to see them.

argentina go a legitimate goal which was deemed offside, and looking at the replay over and over it was clear no one was offside, so that match was altered by the referee, ok they won 2-1 but it need not have gone to extra time.
referees are in the same catagory as traffic wardens.
a for assholes

No, Sweden was so poor Germany could have won by double figures if they really wanted. Saying that though, the host nation usually does benefit from refereeing decisions.
